The Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency

For the past 25 years the Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency (RDA) has continued to revitalize the appearance and streets of downtown Las Vegas. Sitting on the board today and carrying out the original vision of the RDA are nine Las Vegas officials, including eight councilmen and Mayor Oscar Goodman.

The RDA exists to breathe life into areas of downtown Las Vegas that are under duress. Through renovations, new constructions, new businesses, face lifts for established businesses, parks, landscaping and much more not only does this effort beautify downtown Las Vegas but it creates both construction jobs and permanent jobs and a stir in the local economy. The area of concentration is nearly 4,000 acres and it’s borders extend east of the I-15, west of Maryland, north of Sahara and south of Washington.

Every year the RDA posts a year-end report detailing what work was completed, what is still under construction and the impact these redeveloments had on the surrounding downtown area and economy.
